Favorite Happy Hour Spots in SF

Who doesn’t love a good happy hour? Most weeks you need one day where you can just go out and let your hair down. Having worked in the Financial district for soon to be five months now, I have been able to scope out some of the best happy hours around me.

E&O Kitchen

Financial District

314 Sutter St.

It’s nearly impossible to find a solid happy hour in the Financial District (a place that potentially needs it the most). But the kind folks at E&O are keeping the area stocked with 1 buck oysters and dumplings, $4 beers, and $6 cocktails.

 Novela

SOMA

662 Mission St.

The literary-themed cocktails at Novela are certainly worth the splurge once in awhile. However, their “Stirred, Shaken, and Shucked” $1 oyster happy hour every Monday (4pm) is where it’s at. During this time, bottles of wine are also 20% off.

Rosa Mexicano

SOMA

3o Mission St.

Modern Mexican chain eatery known for tableside guacamole, creative margaritas & chic surrounds. Happy Hour is daily from 4:00pm – 7:00pm (bar & lounge only).

Gaspar Brasserie

FINANCIAL DISTRICT

185 Sutter St.

Once you get past the fact this place calls their French fries “pommes frites,” there’s a lovely little happy hour awaiting you including: $6 cocktails, dollar oysters and deviled hen’s eggs, and yes—$3 “pommes frites.”

John Collins

SOMA

138 Minna St.

Stylishly understated bar offering an extensive drink list & a popular happy-hour scene. They also have a Takoba Sushi Bar upstairs that makes amazing sushi.

Zero Zero

SOMA

826 Folsom St.

This place is perfect for a quick bite at the bar, having dinner with old friends and everything in between. Wood-fired, thin-crust pizzas & other Italian standards are available at this swanky eatery with a lively bar scene.

Jambers

SOMA

858 Folsom St.

Local beer & wine served on tap plus bar bites in a casual, bi-level space that opens onto a patio.  Happy hour runs from 3:30-7:30PM. Huge variety of food options on the happy hour menu They even have beer and wine flights!

Osha

SOMA

311 3rd St.

This is a chain restaurant but seriously really good and that can be darn hard to find in chains! Curries & other Thai classics are offered at this contemporary place. Happy hour is everyday form 3-7PM. Food and drink special both available.
