Gloomy Weekends

Gloomy days were my inspiration behind my makeup this weekend! Hubby and I had plans to go to the city for a photoshoot but the rain squashed those plans. Stayed indoors, opening packages and testing out new makeup and new lip shades.

I usually play it pretty safe with my lip shades with either mauve nudes or just pink-y shades. So glad I tried this! This would look great with a smokey eye. It can also be tricky and hard to find lip colors that looks great on medium skin tones (brown skin tones).

My first look had me using NYX Lip Lingerie in the color “teddy” and I was pleasantly surprised! The formula and smell are great. Not too drying and they are long-lasting if I am not eating anything.

These liquid lipsticks are packaged like a lipgloss which comes with a doe foot applicator. The doe foot applicator is slightly longer and skinnier compared to other applicators in other lip products I have. I feel that the applicator with the NYX Lingerie liquid lipsticks allows you to really shape your cupid’s bow for a cleaner look. I had a much easier time applying my lip color precisely with this brush. The liquid lipsticks were also individually plastic sealed for safety.

The shade “Teddy” is a brown with plum undertones. It is the darkest color out of all 12 liquid lipsticks.

This color is definitely channeling 90’s and early 2000’s looks!

I have tried so many liquid eyeliners but nothing compares to Artist of Makeup (Zukreat Cosmetics) extreme art liner pen. It is super easy to make wings of any length and thickness with this pen. The liner just glides on with no shaking of the pen and is super dark each and every time. Beginning or advanced users of liquid liner will love this.

I did run some errands on Saturday (Costco stockup) so I was originally wearing Le Carmin by Lancome before swatching and trying other shades.

These gorgeous lashes are by Mandy Cosmetics. They are so natural looking and full. Mandy Lashes are 100% genuine mink eyelashes and animal cruelty-free. The mink hairs are collected during shedding season and animals not harmed in the making of these lashes in any way.Mandy Lashes are 100% genuine mink eyelashes and animal cruelty-free. The lashes are light, comfortable and long lasting. You don’t even need the slightest bit of mascara! I love how they can be reused up to 25x times as well making them more affordable in the long haul over synthetics lashes.

My eye look was created Tarteist Pro palette using the colors innocent, whimsy, & etheral. I got this palette in the goody bag I received from Ulta during the SF Ulta Grand Opening Pop Sugar Event. I have not always been a Tarte loyalist or fan after once purchasing a bundle from QVC and it not living up to meeting my needs or standards. However lately Tarte has been killing it and I am so happy with all the recent products! You can definitely find me at the beauty store roaming the aisles in which Tarte resides.

The palette includes 16 long wearing matte eyeshadows infused with Amazonian clay for smooth blending and flake-resistant wear, plus four brand-new iridescent luster shades with a microshimmer, duochrome formula. They blended so seamlessly and well! The shadows have an intense payoff in a range of natural artistry, neutral-to-bold shades for all skin tones and skill levels. Brown skin approved on my end!
