Hubby and I heard many great things about Chiang Mai so we had to make the stop during our Thailand trip. We stayed at Khum Phaya Resort & Spa after seeing such gorgeous photos.
Upon arriving, we were greeted with tea and cold towels. Always super refreshing after a flight, no matter how long or short.
Our room was not ready when we arrived so we were guided to a private living room that was fully stocked with fruit, cakes, water, tea, and coffee. Having gotten up super early to pack and get to the airport this was greatly appreciated.
After some rest and food, we were taken to our room and I could not get over the cuteness! The room was just picture perfect with a canopy bed and romantically decorated bed.
We later realized the canopy is to shield from the mosquitos which beware there are TONS. This is after they sprayed the room and put a burner outside the doors to ward away mosquitos.
A vanity was the perfect addition and where I got ready every morning.
Complimentary snacks and water were made available to us as well. My husband thoroughly enjoyed these. We still are not sure of the exact name of this snack but think of chocolate wafer sticks just not chocolate, LOL.
The bathroom was spacious with a tub and a standing shower. The shower had two side jets and a rain shower head. Best shower every morning.
The balcony was a nice touch overlooking the pool and gardens. Probably because of my jet leg, I was waking up early every morning so it was nice to step out in the fresh sun every day.
It was nice to sit out on the balcony in the mornings with a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy the gorgeous view of the pool and lush gardens.
Overall the hotel was gorgeous, the staff was very sweet, helpful, and attentive however the layout of the room was not smart and the mosquitos really bothered us. The hotel is also far from the center & old town. They do have a shuttle going around, however, the timings were very inconvenient. There is only a slightly big mall (with a grocery store on top) near with a couple shops and then some smaller shops. We did love that the Khum Khantokee Cultural show we went to, however, was right next door. Do your research as well if you are going to book a tour from the front desk. Many of the tours and activities they offer are cheaper if booked online or yourself.
Frolicking in the beautiful gardens around the resort. Rounding up my wardrobe including this dress and many others I am wearing for this trip. That roundup & Chiang Mai Travel Guide coming soon!
