Grilled Corn

Grilled corn rubbed with lemon and spices is one of my favorites things to eat when it starts to get warmer out. It takes me back to my childhood and all the picnics and BBQs we used to have. 


A lot of people are always surprised to hear that I do not use a grill to “grill” my corn. I will just place the corn on the stove coils or flames (depending on what kind of stove I have at that moment) and cook until nice and charred. Don’t forget to rotate your corn every couples minutes to ensure every side is getting cooked evenly. 

Once the corn has cooked to my liking and I have removed it from the stove I will go in with a lime or lemon dipped in chaat masala, black salt, regular salt, and red chili powder and rubbed the corn all over. Delicious!


The spices mentioned above are of course Indian spices but you can rub the corn with any spice that tickles your taste buds! I always love experimenting with different spices and toppings. Another favorite is mayonnaise, sour cream and cilantro mixed together and spread on the corn warm. Squeeze lime over the corn and garnish with parmesan cheese and chili powder.
