So many amazing skincare products, how does one even choose or know what to try next!? Reviewing and rounding up some of my current favorites!
Whether it’s morning or night I go in with a cleansing balm first. Using a cleansing balm in the morning helps get any serum, cream, moisturizer etc off my skin and using one at night helps get off all the dirt and makeup.
After the cleansing balm is washed off I go in with a cleanser. My current favorite for the morning is Garnier Skin Active Gentle Sulfate- Free cleanser. I have been using this for about 6 months and have no complaints. In the evening I will use my Glam Glow Thirsty Cleanse Daily Hydrating Cleanser. My skin definitely stays hydrated and glowing from this. Why you ask, do I use two different cleansers? Well in the mornings I don’t really need to wash anything off or do anything crazy to my skin so I like to use a really simple, gentle cleanser whereas at night I am looking to get off all makeup and dirt and really hydrate my skin for the night which I feel the Glam Glow Thirsty Cleanser does.
Cleansers are great but I highly believe they can only do so much. What you really need to invest in and use are good serums and moisturizers. My current obsessions and faves are Clarins Hydra Essentiel Serum and Moisturizer.
The Hydra Essentiel serum is a refreshing bi-phase serum that protects against the elements, leaving skin soft, plump, radiant and intensely hydrated. It’s suitable for all skin types but is ideal for those with normal to dry skin. It’s formulated with organic Leaf of Life, which is a super-quenching succulent plant extract that powers the skin’s natural hydration to retain moisture in any environment, while organic May’s thistle helps improve your skin’s hydration process for all-day comfort. I really love how this preps my skin for the moisturizer. Super light weight and quick absorbing.
Before or after my serum I like to go in with a jade facial roller. Our facial muscles store a lot of tension and this tension can cause wrinkles and fine lines, especially around our forehead and eyes. Using a jade roller often can help to release tension in these spots. Gentle pressure and motion also promote circulation, which plumps and firms skin and is a major contributor to that clean-living, eight-hours-of-sleep glow we’re all striving for. Using a jade roller as a follow-up to skin-care products helps the ingredients soak in better so they can, in turn, do their jobs better. I love jade facial rollers, especially in the summer time. The cool stone again my face is always a delight and I highly recommend storing yours in the fridge for added coolness and refreshment.
After the serum, I go in with the moisturizer. It’s a silky cream that quenches your skin, shielding it from the dehydrating effects of daily thermic shocks that leave skin looking weathered. Again suitable for all skin types, but is ideal for those with normal to dry skin. If you deal with redness, dryness, dullness, and uneven texture I would recommend you picking this moisturizer up. This moisturizer protects your skin from sudden temperature changes, indoor and outdoor pollutants and environmental stress. It contains organic leaf of life, a super-quenching, succulent plant extract that powers the skin’s natural hydration to retain moisture in any environment. I especially liked how this moisturizer made my cheeks feel, SO soft and plump feeling.
Then once a week I like to give myself a face mask. Either a DIY or a store bought one. My current fave is this Bliss Multi Face-Eted Anti-Aging Clay Mask. One reason I love this mask is that if you have never used it before and are unsure if it’s good for your skin or not, you can purchase single packets before committing to the full-size jar.
This clay mask is formulated with a blend of professional spa-level 10% glycolic acid, quartz, nourishing jojoba oil, and detoxifying carbon, this spa-powered mask corrects six of the most common aging skin concerns in one miraculous flexible clay treatment. SIX! That’s nuts! And also great because you get a lot for your money. The mask goes on smoothly, dries in a reasonable amount of time and leaves your skin looking refreshed.
I want to give a quick shout out and thank you to Octoly and Clarins for sending me the Hydra Essentiel Serum and Moisturizer to try out complimentary. As always all opinions are 100% mine and accurate. I want you to fall in love or re-fall in love with some amazing products so I only share the honest, raw truth.
