Vegetarian Food Guide | Maui, Hawaii

I’ll be honest when I think of Maui, all I think of is fish. Luckily that is not the only thing you get there and if you are vegetarian you won’t go hungry. Check out my list of favorite eats around Maui. Happy Eating!

Mambo Cafe

This adorable cafe is located in the town of Paia and is vegan and vegetarian-friendly. The food is so yummy I can’t even begin to tell you.

Slappy Cakes

Laid-back spot for all-day American comfort food, including make-your-own pancakes. They even have vegan pancakes so no egg! That makes me super happy. They have a griddle for you to make your own pancakes, how cool is that?

Top: Tropical Fruit Pancakes Bottom: Avocado Toast

Chef Jen (Thai Food)

You can find Chef Jen on the road to Hana in Naihku Market Place. Super tasty and delicious. Note this is a one-woman food struck/restaurant so only stop if you have time as you will have to wait a little.

Monkeypod Kitchen

Farm-to-table eatery & bar for Hawaiian fare & vast beer & cocktail list has a slick, casual space. Another favorite of mine that has several vegetarian options located in Whalers Village and Wailea. They also have two Happy Hours daily so definitely check those out.

Captin Jack’s

Located in Downtain Lahaina this restaurant has a handful of vegetarian options. I ordered the pasta which was not the best but my hubby thoroughly enjoyed his veggie burger. I would definitely love to go again and try other vegetarian items such as the vegetable fajitas.

Oh, my word. Where do I start!? From the decor to the food, this place is just simply amazing. I was initially wanting to go because of the pie but then ended up ordering an avocado and cucumber sandwich and it was just heavenly. It’s so good we went a second time! They have mini pies in addition to the normal sized ones (which weren’t that big) which is great so you can try different ones.

Bottom Pie: Mini Banana Cream Top Pie: Mini Coconut Cream

Mini Chocolate Cream Pie

Veggie Burger

Vegetable Pot Pie

Avocado & Cucumber Sandwich

Longhi’s has been family owned and operated for over thirty years in Hawaii. Longhi’s has three locations, each offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Longhi’s offers an a la carte menu, featuring Mediterranean cuisine, with specialty products including organic meats, fresh Hawaiian seafood and produce. Longhi’s has its own in-house bakery where all of its desserts, breads, and pastries are created.  This place is especially great for date nights and celebrating special occasions. The view is amazing and the food definitely satisfies.

Coconut Caboose

Okay so this technically isn’t a proper place to eat, it’s just shaved ice and gelato but I wanted to mention this because their coconut gelato is like nothing you’ve ever had in your life.
