ILIA Beauty is regarded as one of the fastest growing makeup brands on the market. Founded in 2011 by Sasha Ilia, ILIA Beauty launched in Vancouver, Canada with the entirety of their line consisting of six tinted lip conditioners. In only two years, ILIAs line increased from six to forty products and today is available in 15 countries. The line debuted with a focus on lip care, which is still prioritized, but has expanded to include eye and face products, as well as makeup brushes.
Skin is incredibly absorbent and Sasha Ilia kept this at the forefront of her mind when designing her makeup line. Every ILIA product is made with natural ingredients that soothe your skin and apply smoothly. I can rave about so many of ILIA’s products- it’s impossible to pick just one product or category of products that deserve the spotlight.
Still one of the most popular aspects of their entire line, their lip products have expanded from tinted lip conditioners to include lipsticks, lipstick crayons, satin cream lip crayons, and lipgloss.
Their lipsticks are some of my favorite. ILIA has over 15 lipstick shades; no matter which color you prefer, you’ll be able to find one that suits you here. The line has shades ranging from Pink Kashmir (a Barbie pink) to Ink Pot (a vibrant purple) and everything in between.
ILIA’s selection of nude lipsticks is also quite impressive. Regardless of your skin tone, you can find a nude that works for you; those with fair skin might prefer Humble Me or Funnel of Love, but if you have darker skin, The Brides or Madam Mina would look stunning.
However, ILIA’s lip products aren’t the only noteworthy aspect of their brand. Their eye products are silky-smooth, highly pigmented and absolutely to die for. The silken shadow sticks come in colors ranging from nudes to purply browns, but I prefer their essential shadow palettes. While ILIA only has two quad eyeshadow palettes, Prima and Luna, they’re really all you need. Prima is the perfect palette for a soft, daytime look. It has a light cream color on your lid and a rose or brown for your crease. If you want to darken up the look, there’s a deep cool-toned brown to give just the right amount of depth on the outer corner of your lid. Aptly named, the Luna palette has all of the dark colors you need to create a sultry, smoky eye. You can lighten up your crease with a cream before layering copper or deep steel grey tones in your crease for the perfect nighttime look.
While the Luna palette is gorgeous, Prima is my go-to palette in the morning. If you’re looking for a small eyeshadow palette with highly pigmented shades to keep in your makeup bag for an easy daytime look, I highly recommend the Prima palette.
Anyone who loves makeup and keeping up with the trends should absolutely give ILIA a try. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
